MECO 's OFS-series seals provide
effective sealing of solids, liquids, vapors and gases
in a variety of applications.
The OFS seal is particularly suited to top-entry agitator
shafts, where long, cantilevered shafts can exhibit
high runout and angular misalignment.
The OFS is simple to install, and requires no flush
or purge. The seal can be built with no elastomers,
permitting its use with a wide variety of aggressive
chemistries. The live-loaded design provides precisely controlled seal face pressure, while keeping the load springs away from the process.
The OFS can be quickly water-washed and dried, making it ideal for sugar-based dry powder mixers where frequent cleanups are a must. (photo at left) The OFS' inboard stator face can be fitted with flush ports to flush any accumulated material from the space around the shaft.
The OFS seal will permit significant axial shaft motion,
making it ideal for applications where there is shaft
float and thermal expansion. They serve well in high-temperature
and high-speed installations where double-face seals
can overheat and fail. 
The OFS is available unsplit or fully-split, and in
a wide variety of materials combinations for maximum
compatibility with acids, bases and aromatic hydrocarbons.
OFS seals excel in vacuum environments, often cutting
process times in half, due to increased vacuum containment.
